Use identicons as avatars instead of initials #244

It makes it pretty for marketing images but it reduces usability as now you cannot know who the person is without hovering over each icon.

Interesting point. I observed that the two letter acronyms often collide and are hard to recognize at a first glance. On the other hand, the identicons of Github are very easy to remember and recognize again.

It’s almost like we need some unique image which anyone can look at it and recognise the user’s identity ... wonder what that could be? ☺️

Maybe we can keep both the initials and custom unique recognisable background. Because keeping track of 100+ Gravatar images without initials will not be easy. Especially for people who are colour blind.
