Lasted data featured home section- make width equalized

The picture backgrounds are not the same width and height, on the home page in latest featured item

It also seems these images are super high res and take a while to load

hey the featured images are actually small, chris said it may be due to the API "fetching" all 200 data sets ...just to push only the top 3, this might be connected to #483
