This is a talk about open source licensing, free software, MongoDB, and source-available commercial projects in general.

Talk Description

A few years ago, MongoDB released a new license, the SSPL, that was not accepted by the open source community.

I'll discuss our experience going from open source to source available, the motivations behind it, the knock-on effects, and some wider issues with open source project sustainability.
