Project Information Overview

To Do: Review [checklist]( update link)

Project Objectives - A case study for peanut (Arachis hypogaea). Project Description -1 variety x 12 planting dates. (12 plots). Field size: L 66' x W 56'. (0.1 ac). Plot size: L 12' x W 25'. (300 sqft). Field Design - RCB with 4 reps. Blocked by replication. Field Diagrams - Maps can be found on TEAMS. Projected Start Date- September Projected End Date- ongoing. Project Manager(s)- Da-Young, Daniel Projected Planting Date- September 21st, 2022. Crop(s)- Peanut (Arachis hypogaea). Irrigation - Layflat to Drip tape. Applications - 1. Pre-emergnet herbicide.

  2. fungicide active ingredient chlorothalonil (an every-other-week spray beginning about 30 days after planting) Planting methods - By hand or planters (Earthways). Data Collection & Sampling - Stand establishment and Harvest. Project Maintenance - Weeding as needed. Equipment needed - Moldboard plow, Harrow disk, others - TBD. Field crew assistance - Yes. For irrigation and land preparation. _

    Land Request

Preferred block- Block 4 Section- Northeast. Area/Acres requested- Total area: L 66' x W 56'. (0.1 ac). Greenhouse - Yes. To Do Complete TREC Land Request Complete TREC Greenhouse Request Request faculty sponsor to complete UFarm request.

Land Preparation

Cultivation (mowing, moldboard plow, disc and level the field, form raised beds, drilling holes, etc.) - Standard cultivation. Unit size - L 25' x W 12'. (300 sqft). Seed Spacing in the mound - 3 inches. Between-mound Spacing - 3 feet. Space between units - 6 feet. Field Buffers - 10 feet. Seeding? (Direct, Broadcast, Incorporated, Drill, Earthway, etc.) - Direct, by hand. Transplants? - No. Support Structure (Rebar, String, etc.) - No. Plastic Mulch? - No. Full image of field layout, design, and plot arrangement - Available on TEAMs. Date to complete land preparation - 9/20. Irrigation

Drip Tape? (drip placement, emitter spacing, flow-rate GPM/100 ft., etc.) - Yes. Solid set? (overhead irrigation, micro-sprinkler) - No. Irrigation Timing (frequency and trigger) - As needed*

Label Name - Top side liquid Boron. Analysis rates (NPK, etc.) - 6-0-0 Application rate per acre - 3.5 pints/acre (2.8 ounces to 1 gallon of water). Application method (banded on top of the bed, soil incorporation, etc.) - Foliar spray [ ~2 months post planting]. Application timing and frequency - at 35-40 DAP(days after planting) and at 50-55 DAP Lab or field personnel - Da-Young, Daniel, Jose. Herbicide Application

Label Name - Dual Magnum. Active ingredient(s) and concentration - S-metolachlor, benoxacor. Resistance Management: Group 15 Herbicide. Restricted Entry Interval (REI): 24 hours. Application rate per acre - 1 pint. Application method (pre-plant broadcast incorporated, shank or drip applied, etc.) - post-planting sprayer. Application timing and frequency - Once at post-planting. Lab or field personnel - Da-Young, Daniel, Jose.
