Hi Stacy,
That is very interesting and agree that it is oddly high OM!! I did follow Thioro's methods that she helped me write up in our wiki-Soil Sampling Protocol
I will be honest in that some of the formulas she gave me seemed off, and that's why I was glad she had included two but I guess there's something else occurring?
Here they are:
I apologize if there were any errors.
Let me know if you like me to send the original file, which includes the formulas.
Hey @Danielcalza I was just wondering if you have already finished analyzing the pre and post summer 2020 soil samples that I send down to TREC recently? No worries if you haven't gotten to them yet. I am just working on my Thesis and was checking to see if I would be able to include those summary data or not.
Stacy
Hi @readersm I don't think I will be able to get to them in time. My apologies, I would hope to start them in the next two weeks but don't want to keep you waiting. I will update you if anything changes.
Hey @Danielcalza
I was able to do some analysis with the Soil Organic Matter results. I only see two seasons worth of pre/post data in the GitHub masters data file, so I started with them (both summer seasons).
Thioro's values for organic matter from summer 2018 seem about right for our sandy soils in SW FL (naturally 0.5% OM!!). But the ones from summer 2019 seem really high. Below is the boxplot visualization of that data: And here is the summary table.
I was wondering if Thioro and you used the same method for the OM analysis on the soil samples? Or if you have other insights that would explain the results we have?
