Project Overview

• Project Objectives - To determine EO hemp (Cannabis sativa) response to applied nitrogen.
• Project Description - Essential oil N Study
• Project Protocol - 2 varieties x 6 rates x 4 reps. (12 trt).
• Field size: L 242' x W 102’. (0.57 ac).
• Plot size: L 25' x W 12'. (300 sqft).
• Field Design - RCB with 4 reps. Blocked by replication.

• Projected Start Date- Early May.

Land Preparation

• Cultivation (mowing, moldboard plow, disc and level the field, form raised beds, drilling holes, etc.) -

• In-Row Spacing - 8.5 inches for direct seed. 6 plants for transplants.
• Between-Row Spacing - 6 ft.
• Field Buffers - 30 ft.
• Seeding? (Direct, Broadcast, Incorporated, Drill, Earthway, etc.) - direct of cv. Maverick.
• Transplants? - Yes plugs of cv. Wife.
• Support Structure (Rebar, String, etc.) - Yes, bamboo for transplants.

Irrigation

• Drip Tape? (drip placement, emitter spacing, flow-rate GPM/100 ft., etc.) - Drip tape. Two lines per bed.

• Active ingredient(s) and concentration - S-metolachlor, benoxacor.
• Resistance Management: Group 15 Herbicide.
• Restricted Entry Interval (REI): 24 hours.
• Application rate per acre - 1 pint.
• Application method (pre-plant broadcast incorporated, shank or drip applied, etc.) - pre-planting, sprayer.
• Application timing and frequency - Once at pre-planting.
