in text-filtered column splitting for selected flagged rows, how to remove the original column for only those flagged rows #72

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Text Filter in a column by search term, produces 75 accurately filtered rows
out of total 972 rows in the dataset.
2. Flag all 75 rows, output is as expected, correctly flagged.
3. Select 'Facet by flag'.
4. Split the text-filtered column by a column separator, removing the original
column.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Right now the option to remove the original column applies to the whole column
instead of the column cells in the selected flagged rows only, so that if I
select 'remove original column', the entire original column disappears for all
972 rows, and if I don't select 'remove original column', I have to remove the
unsplit data in the column cells of the selected flagged 75 rows by hand.

I was hoping to see only the text in the flagged 75 rows being split, with
original column for only those 75 rows removed, and with all the other rows
being completely untouched.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Gridworks-1.1-r878.tar.gz , downloaded on 10 June 2010. Fedora 9 Linux.

Please provide any additional information below.

You have a great product here and I really appreciate that it's open-source. :)
I'm not sure if I should attach my file here in case it's publicly viewable to
all. Please let me know if you need my file to reproduce the problem.

Thanks.

Try the column menu command Edit Cells > Common Transforms > To Blank. That
blanks out the cells matching the facets' constraints. If that does what you
want, please close the issue.

Yes it does. Wonderful! Erm, where is the 'close issue' button on this page?

No 'close issue' button :) But you could add a comment and change the Status to
Done or something like that. Which I'm doing right now. So don't worry about it.
