In autostart mode, the slideshow doesn't stop when clicking on a thumbnail

When a slideshow is in autostart mode and playing, click on a thumbnail

Unless I'm wrong, in autoplay mode, when clicking on a thumbnail the
slideshow should (and usually) stop and stay on the selected picture.

Instead, the slideshow transitions correctly to the selected picture, but
doesn't stop and goes to the next picture. It usually happens the first
time, or when clicking at a certain time frame before a transition.

Galleriffic 1.0 / JQuery 1.3 or 1.3.2, 
Browsers : IE6/7/8, FF 3.5.3 and Opera 9.6
OS : Windows XP Professional 32-bit

I'm having the same issue, wondering if there's any fix?  In my case, the 
autostart variable set to true plays the slideshow fine.  When you click an 
image, it stops, but then flashes every 10 seconds on the same image, like the 
slideshow wants to run but doesn't find any other images. I would expect it to 
stop on that image and not fade out and back in.
