Allow receipt picture #45

Allow taking a picture of the receipt for warranty purposes, because why would you use 2 apps for that?

The picture should only be loaded in a detailed view, as to not affect performance negatively. preferably including a "save to gallery" & share/print option

TWiStErRob commented 8 years ago

This is essentially allowing multiple images per belonging (#50).

If you take a picture of an item the image is currently shared when clicking the "Share *" action item. Though if multiple will be allowed we'll need a main image and sharing of single images.

to not affect performance negatively.

Can you elaborate on this?

to not affect performance negatively.

the "additional" images shouldn't be loaded until the "detailed" view of the item, which would need to be created since current UI would get too messy with extra fields added to the organizer, a "detail" button could be added where "change category" [bottom-right] is right now, since changing the category shouldn't happen too often; alternatively showing category information instead of "item" [under Toothbrush] (tied to #46 ) image

I always thought about extra images as extra pages in the view-pager, be it receipt or something else. For example currently the details page is to the right of the main image, if there were extra images they could be to the left. I think a category icon (which wouldn't fit on the actionbar subtitle) is needed if the main image is a normal photo to give extra info about the item. The fact that you can tap on it to quickly edit is just a convenience.

currently the details page is to the right of the main image

aahh... that's where it is 😜 And that also seems like something you should only do if you lazy-load them (for said performance issues, especially on cheaper devices, which we developers don't get to use too often 😝 )

TWiStErRob commented 8 years ago

Hehe, I had the feeling you never swiped the image...

Being lazy should be easy with ViewPager. Of course it doesn't work as expected, grrr: http://stackoverflow.com/q/10073214/253468

the option for TWO images without having to add a sub item. This would allow to take a pic of an item, and then a second pic for serial number / model number stickers, which could be helpful for proving ownership -- https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgxwBWStJLlLmmMPCPrbpjmFvgBCW
