[Request] Way to open straight to a table in a specific database with "Open Anything" #129

Currently in the "Open anything" window, you can go to a database or to a table in the current database.

As a current user of the very RAM-heavy Datagrip (mostly because it's built-in to PHPStorm), one thing that would make TablePlus an instant win for me would be the ability to jump straight to a specific table in a specific database.

Use-case: One of our primary products is a multitenant application with some ~700 databases. Currently, in Datagrip I can open the 'search anywhere' functionality and type "Dbname.Tablename" to jump straight to that table in that database, which is super useful for moving quickly between customers. Being able to just hit Ctrl+P and type "somecustomer.accounts" would be phenomenal.

The primary trouble I have with doing that in Datagrip is that it's so very heavy to run PHPStorm just for database access. Seriously, right now it's using nearly 3GB of RAM. Would love to have something as lightweight as TablePlus to replace Datagrip for that use-case.

Please answer the questions below, it helps us to track the issue.

  1. Database version (Ex: PostgreSQL 10.0): Any

  2. TablePlus version (the number on the welcome or about screen, Ex: build 81): 0.1 (168)

  3. Linux distro (Ex: Ubuntu 18.04): Manjaro

  4. The steps to reproduce this issue: Hit Ctrl+P, type a database name and then a table name, no results :disappointed:

Hi @V13Axel you can open database first then open table later. You can do both via command + P, more key strokes of course but preload all database tables probably is not a good idea. I know that we can lazy load it when the user type database. but it would be the same as open database via command + P and then open table.

Totally understandable! Taking two steps is fine with me, i didn't even realize it changed functions inside a database.

Thanks! TablePlus is so far pretty great, appreciate your time.
