Two practical suggestions:
1) Add "in reverse key order" to the sorting options, as we are very often interested in the latest records, not the oldest! and save it as the default order.
2) Add an "hourglass" type indicator or equivalent when a query is running, because it's not always easy if it's a bit long ... the temptation is then to restart it unnecessarily.
