Presets for Character Sheets #127

Someone (Eldritch Void) mentioned how it might be nice to have something of a drag-and-drop system for designing character sheets.

Of course, that's going to be less flexible than our current solution. However, it might be useful to combine them both.

To do that, we just have to come up with some presets that are system-independent and put them in. Or design presets for common layouts that could be useful for people to include.

It is unclear how hard or easy this would be. And maybe it's more of a UX thing than a dev thing.

From a UX perspective, I think we can create something similar to that if we create some premade assets inside of the character sheet builder. For example a generic stat block that they can use to get started, and eventually they move towards making their own. I'll mess with it a little bit while I dig into the map maker. Definitely as you said though, more on a UX side things.

I would focus on the map maker more for now.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by stat block. There's a lot of moving parts here and stats are extremely system dependent. The only thing we can do here is like super basic layouts -- anything more than that and we get into system intricacies.

Stat Blocks are impossible because we don't know what someone's system will look like. And the more we build-in assumptions, the more problematic it will be...
