Hi @jesseguercio That's weird.
Please check the Windows Event Viewer for any .NET runtime errors under "Windows Logs > Application" (see screenshot below). Please copy all details from any such events related to Tabular Editor 3, around the time of launching the application.
A possible workaround is to delete the contents of your %localappdata%\TabularEditor3
folder. Perhaps some configuration corruption is preventing Tabular Editor 3 from starting?
Hi @jesseguercio Do you have any updates on this? Did you attempt the workaround shown above?
Hi @otykier ,
I have exactly the same issue that latest verson of TB3 (or anyother old version ) will not launch both from within Power BI's external tools tab and the desktop icon. Please take a look at the details from Event Viewer . Thank you very much!
.
The workaround (deleting contents of local folder) did solve the issue.
@jesseguercio do you happen to have a backup of the contents of the folder, that caused the issue?
@jamieecai did you try the workaround listed above? Does the issue only occur when launching the tool from Power BI Desktop?
Closing issue as it no longer seem to be a problem in never versions of Tabular Editor 3
Hair trigger on closing this issue that so many people seem to have. Just because it was resolved for one or two doesn't mean it's solved.
Hi @PBIDevBA We will of course reopen the issue if you are experiencing this issue? Could you provide a bit of detail on what you are seeing?
Closing the issue 1.5 year after the latest activity, with no new reports of it happening while not being able to reproduce it internally, I do however consider acceptable.
Hi all,
After the last update, the editor will not launch both from within Power BI's external tools tab and the desktop icon. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, check antivirus for blocking, uninstalled-restarted-reinstalled.
Anyone else had this issue and found a solution.
