[Feature request] Queue priority #148

Open KaKi87 opened 3 years ago

KaKi87 commented 3 years ago

Hello,

Queue is currently ordered by ascending added date without re-ordering ability.

It would be nice to order it by descending added date and with re-ordering ability.

Thanks

Maybe I didn't understand what you mean, but there is sorting:

Does this sort feature defines the order in which files in queue are downloaded ?

If yes, I find this somewhat confusing.

For instance, in Internet Download Manager for Windows, those two features are different :

No, it doesn't affect priority

KaKi87 commented 3 years ago

Alright, looking forward to the implementation of queue ordering 🙂

KaKi87 commented 3 years ago

Hello, any news on this ? Thanks

@KaKi87 How do you see the implementation of the queue settings? Are there any examples?

KaKi87 commented 2 years ago

Personally I would be fine with the download queue following the already existing sorting option. But if you think it's not enough, you can duplicate the sorting option, name it queuing, and eventually add a same as sorting option. Thanks

In ADM Holo, it was simply done using up/down buttons like this :

I did not tried any other download manager because I chose ADM before and Navi today because both are 100% free/in-app-free/ad-free (yours being FLOSS is a very nice plus, thank you for that).

How do you like this: the queue matches the adding time. The earlier a download is added, the more priority it has. In the menu, you can change the priority for an individual download. I also add sorting by priority. It's also worth adding sorting by priority to make it easier to track downloads with the highest priority.

That's actually a very interesting approach, I like it.
