Users of Internet Explorer as well as potentially other programs through Wine may find this useful.

The relevant registry key is: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings] "ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001 "ProxyServer"="proxy.server.host:portnr"
