This is based on a for thread by user avarakin.

The proposal is to configure the first delay until refocus, then use a progressively greater periodicity.

Replies note that currently

temperature on the focuser can be used to adjust focus position
temperature on the focuser (or other) can be used to trigger a refocus

Lack of temperature probe can be an issue, hence the proposal. Notes about scope temperature balance should be achieved, and that this may be too custom as a feature.
