I need the fllowing additional info:
1) Are you using Greader sync or not?
2) Do you exit pRSSreader between updates? Does it have any effect on the bug?

1) No, I do not use Greader sync
2) There is no difference in the behaviour, if I exit the application between
updates. (Step 1-3, then exit. start again. Feed is "No unread items" then step
4.
update feed with result as above.)

I tried that and I get the expected behavior, i.e. after the second update no
unread
items appear. So, can you post your subscriptions in the form of OPML file here?

What is the number of items you are keeping in the cache for the feed of

group?

Hope I get your question right:
Currently there are 30 items. No item is flagged within this feed.
- The default for the application is 30 items per feed and "cache images within
feed".
- Special for this feed in the site manager there is nothing ticked on the
"caching"
tab and "Default cache settings" on the "Archive" tab.
But now: Again I tried "mark as read" for the feed and the "update" and now it
says
"20 unread items" and some items in between are marked as read. So sometimes I
get "30 unread items" and sometimes I get "20 unread items" and i do not see
the
pattern behind it.
So I removed the feed via site-manager. The I added it again.
Strange thing was that while adding I was asked whether to use RSS or Atom. I
do not
remember to have seen this before. I choose "RSS" and now it works as expected.
unread items keep unread.
Finally the question: I have changed the pda and transferred the settings via
exported OPML to the new maschine. Is it possible that this mingled up
something, so
that it did not work as meant on the pda where i imported it?
