CBR won't load in ComicTagger #40

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Drag .cbr file into ComicTagger or use file -> open

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
CBR should load into Comictagger.
I get "No comic archives were found." if one cbr is dragged in or "No comic
archives were found." if multiple cbr's are dragged in.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ComicTagger 1.1.10-beta
OS X 10.9.1 Build 13B42
WinRAR for Mac v5.01

Please provide any additional information below.
If I drag a cbz file in, then comictagger recognizes it right away. I've also
tested WinRar in the command line, and it will extract cbr files: unrar e
test.cbr. I've also cleared the cache and reset all the default settings.

Looks like your unrar program is a non-standard place. Are you setting the
rar/unrar path in the ComicTagger Settings->General tab?

Yes, the path is set correctly and the folder it's in and the rar/unrar files
have full read/write permissions. I'm tempted to believe that something with
the OS X 10.9 update broke the feature, because I used Comictagger on 10.8
without any problems.

I don't have a 64-bit Mac so it's hard for me to test anything past Snow
Leopard. I am hoping to upgrade to a new Mac mini with the next refresh,
though.

This might be an issue with rar version. It seems the py-unrar2 library code I
use has been updated to handle rar v5. I'll have to look into this.

I confirm this is a problem with rar v5.x, if I use v4.2.0 everything works
great.

Is there a link available for v4.2?

I found one here:

http://www.mmnt.net/db/0/4/ftp.rarlab.com/rar/

It is on page 5 of 26 at the moment.
