Oak Only Tools #468

Describe the bug Villagers will not use other woods to make tools or torches.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Have villagers (farmers, lumberjacks, or miners) that need tools/torches
  2. Have only Spruce/Birch/Jungle wood in Village
  3. Villagers will act as though material is unavailable
  4. Add oak to chests
  5. Villagers immediate use oak to craft tools/torches

Expected behavior Villagers should use any wood to craft with.

Server/Location What server were you playing on? Dev What are the world coordinates of your town hall marker? -3934 64 -8650

Additional context Probably affects all villagers; only have farmers, lumberjacks, and miners in the village currently.

I have noticed they exclusively use oak too. I started in a spruce area (ice plains), and I had to make axes for my lumberjacks or they'd just not work. I was not aware at the time that this was why. Now that I have all 4 tree types they only use the oak to make wooden tools.

Was helping another player out today and they had several wood types but the lumberjack refused to make a new axe until the oak was provided. Obviously, later on when you have multiple wood types its not an issue to favor the oak, but if someone isn't using oak or starts out without it, obviously that will make this issue pop up.

Chef also favours oak over other wood types as a fuel source on the What if? season 2 beta test server even though spruce was much more abundant.
