Circled in red are a bard and a farmer at night, a good distance away from the village at night. Once a villager gers out this far, they seem to just break down and not move from these spots. If a zombie attacks them, they might run 10 squares randomly, but they'll pretty much stay in this area.
This is happening with me as well as villagers wandering seemingly far too much. This started with the "Villagers wander if not doing anything" update, only it seems that villagers wander instead of doing anything. I have followed some villagers, like lumberjacks, and druids, for an entire day, only to see them do 2, 1, or even no actions for their actual job, when there is plenty to do.
I'm using version 1.0.43
Describe the bug My village is in a plains biome surrounded hills which might be what's causing the issue. Some of my villagers wonder outside the village or at least to the very edge which breaks their AI and they stop doing anything. They don't sleep, don't eat, don't do their jobs, they just sit outside my village. It's not just villagers that I'd expect this to be effecting like, the lumberjack (since they travel to cut trees) Its villagers like the blacksmith which have no real reason to travel out that far. I'll also find my bard way up on a cliff with no villagers around, far from the tavern and they'll just be wandering aimlessly on the cliff. I've had one bard do this same thing and die to a zombie because they refuse to go to safety like a tavern or house at night.
To Reproduce To replicate, I'm not sure if this is biome based, if not ignore this. But maybe make a village in a valley surrounded by Extreme Hills.
Expected behavior I guess to not wander so far and not have their AI break.

Additional context I also created a similar redstone design to yours for the mineshaft where the ground opens and drops my villager into a pool of water. I had to change this due to the villager getting stuck in the water and not trying to get out. I've also found my farmer stuck in the water sources in may farms. And I've found my bard stuck in a pond. Not sure if this has anything to do with the issue I already mentioned above but water seems to also break AI.
