Changing the font on the title bar breaks the title bar in Windows 11 22621.1 And Font settings are initialized every reboot. 2022-05-29 09 55 13 The title bar turns transparent and the layout is broken.

What? In my build 25126.1000 on HYPER-V using Hyper-V video driver, there is no issue. What video card do you use? I think it's video driver issue. Because I can't reproduce this issue on HYPER-V. This is why, I can't comment more in this issue.

arkaeins commented 2 years ago

I use nvidia Geforce RTX3070 and NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 512.95 WHQL. I'll try again with a different driver.

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

Wow. @arkaeins Probably your video card driver supports WDDM 3.0 (see dxdiag). HYPER-V video driver supports WDDM 1.3. It's irregular environment for virtual machine. Maybe some glitch occurs in higher version WDDM or video card driver. If you can, send feedback to Microsoft and NVIDIA. Thank you for your reply.

Hi, change the font to Segoe UI can fix this problem. It seems the lastest windows 11 builds doesn't allow change system fonts.

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

Hmm, presumably, it's time to move maintenance mode. Since Windows 11, I think MS don't want to change user experience. I think strong point of Windows is moderate degree of freedom. Now I feel raw Windows user experience is poor than Mac (especially appearance) and Linux desktop environments (in flexibility). If MS restricts user's customization, i think it remains inconvenient user interface and ugly appearance. Especially in east asia where use kanji characters such as Japan, Chinese, Taiwan. Perhaps, in user experience last 10 years is lost 10 years. Many PC users grow with MS. I feel very sad, sad, sad.

Hello, 25126.1000 cannot set font size

Having the same issue on an AMD videocard on the same version of Windows. Switching back to Segoe UI fixed the problem... :(

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

Hmm, it seems Windows issue...

VladCarlsson commented 2 years ago

Definitely :(

ghost commented 2 years ago

I had the same problem too. My OS language is Simplified Chinese,my OS version is 22621.160.

I use APU as GPU.

ghost commented 2 years ago

According to this problem, I guess the DWM of Win11 22H2 is different from the previous version.

VladCarlsson commented 2 years ago

Definitely an issue with DWM. Hopefully there's a workaround this issue and we can resume changing our default fonts again. (┬┬﹏┬┬)

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

Intresting.But, very disappointing.

xvzhenduo commented 2 years ago

This issue was fixed on Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.25145.1011) (KB5016159) but the font of the title bar and startup menu can't be change image image

eliaszon commented 2 years ago

Hey! I have encountered the same issue before. Try this tip: DO NOT change the title bar font and see what's going on :)

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

Now, I think this plan. I don't do anything action before Windows 11 22H2 is officially released (I hope MS fix this issue).

When Windows 11 22H2 is officially released, if any trouble occurs, I would remove Windows 11 from support and announce this support removal. And software keep AS-IS for Windows 8.1/10 users and challengers. If users run this software on Windows 11, it's own risk. Repository keep AS-IS. If who will think good ideas.

This plan is for the worst-case scenario. Please pray that Windows will be fixed so that we can choose any font we want as our system font. 🙏🏻

I feel like Microsoft doesn't want users to change their system settings.I think this bug was intentionally caused by Microsoft.

We don't have a way to change Microsoft, so I think you might need to add a "compatibility warning" to software main window.

Tatsu-syo commented 2 years ago

I think so. Last update might be adding compatibility warning on Windows 11.

Huh, Microsoft Japan's designer eyes are rotten.
