Android GCS does not work with XBee #1184

From pug398: "The vid:pid is 0403:6001 and bus device name is FT232R USB UART"

It works via a BT relay.

Thanks for opening this. As said the xbee radio works with android devices via Bluetooth bridge. Correct uavo set loads quickly and goes on. With radio (with ext power) is plugged into device usb it does not work. Select serial connection and tell to connect. Asks whether to connect to usb device. Tell yes. Says opening serial device and that is last message. Open PFD and arrows indicate some data passing. FirmwareIAPObject shows all zeros. Never loads UAVO set. Thanks for looking at it.

I had a thought: what baudrate does it run at? The driver defaults to 57600.

stupid question: is your phone's usb master?

peabody124 commented 10 years ago

Yeah - most android phones support "USB OTG" which is basically usb master light edition. This is used to power the radio and talk to it.

Xbee is set to 57k interface speed on both ends with over air rate 200k.

Works with clone 3DR v1 radios just not great. They appear to have the same FTDI chip.
