HUD crashes game on startup #8

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Starting the game with resource & scripts folder in /tf folder

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

5.2 on OSX 10.7.5. Was using 4.8 before that without error

As it turn out, the hud doesn't crash the game, it's some tf2 files being 
corrupt. 

But for some reason the hud won't show up at all when launching tf2. I'm back 
to stock :(
This has happened since the steampipe update.

all custom huds such as bladehud no longer run in the /tf folder, they are to 
be put in this directory.

tf/custom/(makeafolderher)/insert resource and scripts here
so for example mine looks like this
tf/custom/mystuff/resource
tf/custom/mystuff/scripts
