This is a feature-request for future releases.
Usually it is convenient to use monospace fonts when you are dealing with
conventional programming languages, but LaTeX is no conventional language in
the sense that commands are mixed with plain text, which is worse readable in
monospace fonts.
So, my idea is to make adaptive ("smart") fonts in the editor: plain text is
shown in non-monospace fonts, while commands, text inside of commands like
\texttt and leading spaces (for better alignment and indentation) are shown in
monospace.
