What are you using AtomECS for? #66

Hi,

@tiffanyharte and myself would like to know what other people are using AtomECS for. For planning future features it would be very helpful to know what kinds of experiments people are interested in simulating - so please, anyone, feel welcome to comment on this issue :)

I'll add information from the Oxford setups below and tag others who have been using it.

As Elliot mentioned, we're simulating the recapture of an atomic flux in a 3D mot. AtomECS is useful for providing capture efficiencies but since we then transition from this MOT to a pure magnetic trap, it would also be useful to accurately simulate the steady state, fully loaded MOT, as well as the compressed MOT stage from ramping detuning & magnetic field to improve loading into the next stage of the trap.
