Towards the end of the semester, I think we should consider reducing this repo to just the content layer (notes/slides/standards/exercises) for possible distribution to other instructors, and extract the other materials/tools (syllabi, calendar, specific assessments) into separate repository(ies).

I agree, one way or another we should separate out the content layer to allow for public distribution. Modifying the name of the issue to more accurately reflect this goal.

This seems to have been taken care of with the refactoring.
