Not sure why that is jumping to the wrong thing, but I think it's another example of how brittle PreTeXt is when you create things without xml:ids, since the things that do have manual IDs seem to link fine.

I don't think I agree that a square root has two values! Isn't $f(x)=\sqrt{x}$ a function?
