[2.0, 2.1, 3.0]|3.68 h-encore][PSTV][USB stick or HDD] USB mass still not detected. Aborting USB mass detection. #25

Open Duckyz95 opened 6 years ago

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

The recent update fixed the original issue of saying device not supported however StorageMgr isn't detecting my USB while it is plugged it, if I plug it in while H-Encore app is exiting then it will detect and mount it. Log

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

I have the same issue, with this in the log: "Error mounting bootfs: 80024302" My config file is only UMA=ux0. I have a Sony memorycard and a 500gb hdd. It worked with enso 3.65 with usbmc installer, even suspend/wake up.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

@Duckyz is it a USB hard drive or USB stick ?

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

It's a USB stick

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

Please test : https://github.com/CelesteBlue-dev/PSVita-StorageMgr/releases/tag/v2.1b1

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

Thank you, i'll give it a try right away.

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

Unfortunately this didn't fix it for me

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

Same result here, but it works when i'm turning on the hdd when h-encore exits in v. 2.0, not in 2.1 beta.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

Please test : https://github.com/CelesteBlue-dev/PSVita-StorageMgr/releases/tag/v2.1

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

Sorry, i still get "Error mounting bootfs:80024302". Thank you anyway.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

@BeemerDream thie bootfs error is not important. Please send full logs.

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

Hasn't fixed it for me either. Pretty sure the log is the same as the original, if not then here's the log

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

I've got the exact same log as Duckys. Except for the moduleid:000928A1.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

@BeemerDream you are on 3.68 ? does the USB stick mount using VitaShell -> mount uma0 ?

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

Yes i am and yes it does.

MegaPramuk commented 6 years ago

I also have the same problem, though it's a USB hard drive instead of a USB pen drive. Here's the last log it made, in case it might be needed. The hard drive can be mounted via VitaShell, though.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

@Duckyz @BeemerDream @MegaPramuk @GabyPCgeeK please test v3.0

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

Same problem occurs, doesn't detect the USB when already plugged in. Log

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

It doesn't work for me either. Same problem as before.

ghost commented 6 years ago

Any updates to this issue? Thought i was going crazy or my USB was broken

CelesteBlue-dev commented 6 years ago

Please test usbmc by yifanlu.

Duckyz95 commented 6 years ago

By the looks of the issues on usbmc, it might have a similar problem as nobody has gotten that to work either.

BeemerDream commented 6 years ago

It worked for me with usbmc installer at 3.65 enso.

ghost commented 6 years ago

I'm on 3.68 and usbmc application tells me to install enso in order to use it

meh2481 commented 6 years ago

Same problem for me on 3.68 h-encore. Using a run-of-the-mill SanDisk Cruzer 128GB USB 2.0 thumb drive. Tried with and without a Sony memory card in the PSTV. As others have noted, plugging in the thumb drive while h-encore is exiting is a workaround that works. Followed the steps at https://vita.hacks.guide/storagemgr twice to verify that it wasn't a problem on my end.

My storage_config.txt (for non-Sony-memory-card attempt):

INT=imc0
UMA=ux0

Using latest release v3.0

andiweli commented 6 years ago

I have the same issue on PSTV on 3.68 and H-Encore. Using a 64 GB Sandisk USB stick. Stick won‘t get recognized until I open VitaShell and replug the USB stick...

FirionHope commented 6 years ago

Also having the same issue on PSTV 3.68 H encore, 32gb sandisk stick. Would be nice to have a warning on the main page, I just spent hours trying to troubleshoot it not realizing it was a known issue.

TRWOV commented 5 years ago

Also having the "USB mass still not detected. Aborting USB mass detection". I'm using an external 3.5" HDD with its own power source formatted as exFAT.

I can mount UMA0 in Vitashell and mount it to ux0 manually. Can refresh Livearea, run games and such once done so.

For the time being I'm just leaving the PSTV on standby to avoid the manual mounting. After turning on from standby USB is still mounted as ux0.

craigerskine commented 5 years ago

Same. I'm on PSTV 3.68 h-encore as well. I'd prefer to use HDD but having to unplug USB, start VitaShell, plug in USB, mount USB, mount USB as UX0 every time I reboot or shut down is annoying.

For now I'm using a 128GB microSD with SD2Vita, but I'm almost out of space. A portable 1TB SSD is cheaper than a 256GB microSD, so yeah, I'd prefer a HDD if it were more convenient.

Same Issue.s+ PSTV 3.68 h-encore. v3.0 StorageMgr.

I wish to mount Usb MAss storage (a 256 GB sandisk ultrafit) as ux0 AND sd2vita GameCarD (128 GB SD card) as uma0.

Using the following storage_config.txt

MCD=xmc0 INT=imc0 UMA=ux0 GCD=uma0

Following the instruction in the Readme.md to the letter:

"Usage. NOTE: for using USB mass on h-encore, you have to boot PSTV, plug out USB mass, plug in USB mass then launch h-encore.

NOTE: For mounting a device as ux0:, this device must have already been mounted as ux0: using VitaShell at least once to have necessary files on it."

Here is what i find:

From cold boot with Usb MAs storage attatched and sd2vita Game CarD insterted.

I remove Usb MAs storage as per above instruction, re-insert then run h-encore. VitaShell shows the Usb MAss storage has failed to mount as ux0: VitaShell shows PSTV INTernal 1.05 GB as ux0 still. However, the sd2viota Game CarD has mounted as uma0.

Also receiving the "USB mass still not detected. Aborting USB mass detection" log.

If at this point I attempt to mount USB as ux0 in vita shell, then uma0 un-mounts and the option to mount it is no longer available.

As people have tried so above, I can also confirm that removing the Usb MAss storage before running h-encore, then reinserting as h-encore is exiting is a sucessfull workaround. BOTH cards will mount as i require. Interestingly though, if i choose to un-mount uma0 in VitaShell, when both are mounted, then i cannot re-mount it, i.e. no option to do so, untill I un-mount the USB Card.

I was also having this issue... (3.65 PSTV with enso) But I think I might have found the solution.

My 64GB Toshiba USB pen drive was formated in FAT32. I re-formated it to exFAT, with 32kb allocation size, and it now auto-mounts.

4forksache commented 5 years ago

MDashK, glad that worked for you. Mine was already formatted as exFAT, still have the issue, maybe h-encore specific then?

MDashK commented 5 years ago

You made sure to format it with 32kb or 64kb allocation size?

4forksache commented 5 years ago

64 kb. I remember having to reformat as I originally formatted on default allocation size and my storage was being eaten up incorrectly. Thanks though.

MDashK commented 5 years ago

Well, you can always try 32 kb. You won't lose anything on trying...

MegaPramuk commented 5 years ago

Just wanted to write that I don't encounter this problem any longer after having downgraded to 3.60 and installing Ensō.

CelesteBlue-dev commented 4 years ago

So I will have to test USB FAT32 HDD on 3.68 hencore PSTV. I Don't have any 3.68 PSTV... Maybe someone can test it for me.

vinisssao commented 4 years ago

Same result in PSTV 3.73

"Error mounting bootfs: 80024302" My config file is only UMA=ux0.

I plug a USB Sticker exfat 32kb

BeemerDream commented 4 years ago
