[Feature Request] Ability to manually select Multiverse World #47

I feel this would be a beneficial addition to the mod, giving it more usability on servers that do not/cannot install the server-side version. In extension, a way to detect if the server was running the mod and automatically change the map to suit. Some applications of this include Bukkit and Spigot servers that do not support mods, or public vanilla servers.

I love the features that JM includes and the customization options that it has, but I feel that this is one feature that would be a really great addition.

Why did you close this?

Must have been a miss-click on my part. Is there any update on this?

mysticdrew commented 3 years ago

No update on this yet, but it is still on my radar. I already have implementation design concepts I have been mulling over.

It would be really helpful. Btw "multi world support" setting does not change anything and my map is still being overwritten

This is because some servers strip the value we use or just send 0 in its place if they support multiple versions of minecraft. The next major version will contain a save by IP option too which may help. Do you have some servers that I can test on (1.19.3) that you know mulitworld support does not work?

This feature is still on my "nice to have" list for the next major release. If not, it will be in the minor release after the major release.

You can test it on any server that doesn't use Journeymap.

I am talking about a specific multiworld server that you know for a fact does not work with multiworld support enabled. To verify if the save by IP can solve even more server issues.
