What?

While I was talking to @TheDrOfDoctoring about the Vampiric Ageing addon, I had an idea: cosmetic Bloodlines.

One of the most enchanting elements of Vampirism for me personally is the opportunity it provides for players to delve into roleplay. With the introduction of Bloodlines, players would be able to see their heritage, the lineage of the vampire who turned them, adding depth to the narrative players craft for their characters.

How?

Let's start by distinguishing between the different ways one can become a vampire.

Vampire player infects a human player

When a vampire player infects a human player, the human player becomes a vampire and is added to the vampire player's bloodline. The former human now represents a further node in the bloodline tree.

Vampire NPC infects a human player

For this I was inspired by the minions. Since you can only take in nameless vampires as minions, it would also make sense if you can't enter their Bloodline when being turned by them. Imagine this for a moment as a kind of house (although I would rather not use the term in order not to suggest a false closeness to clans or the like): A simple nameless vampire has none and would rather join yours, like when you offer them the minion binding scroll. So, the newly turned vampire will instead create their own bloodline.

Advanced vampire NPC infects a human player

Named vampires all have a small predefined lineage, which can include some lore for the players to glance at. A human player will join this bloodline when being turned. Ideally, players on a multiplayer server would actually see all other players that have been turned by any NPC with the same name, not just this exact entity.

Vampire fangs / sanguinare injection

When a human player uses vampire fangs or infects themselves with a sanguinare injection, they will not join a bloodline and instead create their own, likewise with unnamed vampire NPCs.
