What's your checking frequency for new stream notifications?
Hi. Thanks for your message. I changed to 15 minutes a few days ago but i have the problem already 🫤
And what's your feed update threshold?
I'am not sure to understand. I checked any network. Not "only wifi".

Does battery drain reduce or go away if you increase the feed update threshold to several hours or a day?
I set it to 6 hours, no change.
It's a problem because i start my working day with 70 to 80% of battery :/

Yikes. Definitely a problem that needs to be addressed.
As a workaround for now, you could set the refresh interval to something long like 12 hours or a day. If your phone is in airplane mode for several hours anyway, might as well prevent Newpipe from trying to look for updates in that duration.
Good evening. I agree with you about the night, but during the day I like to be up to date with the news fairly quickly. I'm still going to put myself on 12 hours to see what that gives. I'll keep you informed...

Checklist
Affected version
0.27.2
Steps to reproduce the bug
Let Newpipe open. Put airplane mode on. Wait some hours. When airplane mode is switched to off we see a task looking for new feeds. I have to force close Newpipe to get it working again.
Expected behavior
Newpipe should not search for new videos when internet connection is down.
Actual behavior
Newpipe is always looking for new videos when airplane mode is on which causes significant battery drain (20 to 30%).
