Which version are you using?
I'm using 0.13.7, the latest version that appears via F-droid.

I've updated to the newest 0.14.1, and the issue still persists.

@klassixx Is this still a problem in 0.20.0?
@opusforlife2 I just updated to 0.20.0 and it does still appear to be an issue.
Does this also happen in other apps using ExoPlayer?
That would not surprise me as FireOS' media stuff is pretty weird and buggy.
Every app that I've tried actually seems fine. The volume is as expected when using the Youtube app, web browsers (tested with Amazon's Silk browser and Firefox), and also Netflix, Hulu, Disney+. The difference with NewPipe is that it not only is at a lower volume but it seems as if the audio isn't amplified, i.e., when comparing with different apps at the same perceived volume, there is a fuller sound with any other app, but in NewPipe the sound is much "thinner".
I sometimes experienced this on Huawei P9 lite, though after switching player it turned back to normal
Hi. Quite often I ran into videos with low sound levels. It is not a bug as exposed here. May be It would be nice to add a sound amplification function among the 1x menu.
Is there a status update or can this be closed?
@klassixx ?
I loaded up the same device (Fire HD 10, 7th gen), and updated NewPipe to 0.25.2, and the issue still persists. The device is running FIre OS 5.6.9.0, and once battery gets charged up I'll run an OS update to see if that makes a difference, but not sure if this is worth chasing on a 5+ year old device with an outdated OS.
Do you happen to have any newer FireOS devices to test this on?
Unfortunately I do not
Thanks. Then yeah, let's close this. If someone with a newer device has this problem, we can deal with it when it shows up.
I'm using Newpipe on an Amazon Fire HD 10, and the volume is very low, even at 100%. When I switch to using the "old player" via the settings, the volume is fine, though of course the gesture control for volume and brightness aren't available. Can a fix be implemented? Thanks for your time.
