[Feature Request] Desktop Icon For Live Broadcasting Channels #2401

Hi,

Can you please add a feature on your following releases "shortcut icon for especially live broadcasting channels"?

I mean a shortcut on phones launcher page like opensource transistor program which streams online radios.

This shortcut can have same channel logo and name (or choosen or defined by user) when clicked on it it opens as pop up player. Of course it can be configured via settings menu to open fullsceen or popup and resolution etc.

This feature wouldn't be available to many of the users because it only works on certain versions of Android.

I don't really think a shortcut to a direct stream would be best, because then NewPipe would have to check in the background to see if the stream is up. A better option would be to go directly to What's New, but this can be accomplished without the shortcut by changing the default launch page.

I don't really support this idea that much.

I support this request. I tried to set up an easy way to access a broadcast for an elderly person and the current way of access through bookmarks is much too complicated for them.
