Here only click click is required.
That's... still two clicks, though?
It isn't clear if you're using this menu on purpose though, to select a different player each time. Is that the case? If not, you can change the "Preferred open action" setting under Video and Audio settings from Always Ask to something else.

These options can be moved on the top. In that case, the user will first choose either just-once or always, and then the player. Just-once-or-always option can be saved the same Newpipe saves the chosen player option.

I use different player each time depending on the video. And I use this popup a lot, especially when I want to use YouTube's personalized feed.
All I'm trying to say is that if someone is using this popup and want to keep using it then he/she will always choose just-once. So there should be a way to end that repetition.
Ah. So, in that case, I think:
Here always set "just-once" by default because if someone uses "always" they won't get the popup(which is the current nature of this popup). Setting "Just-once" also ensures that you will get the popup again and you can choose later.
I think, above design should be useful to every user.
Solved. I can set player to "show info" with "always". Then I will have to click only once.
😆 That's the setting I use as well. I thought you wanted the ability to select before Newpipe loaded the video details or something.
If someone implements what I asked for earlier, I would be very thankful. But for now irritation of "just-once" is gone.😊
Reopening issue. I think just-once and always can be replaced by something like this.
It saves a click.🙂
Currently it looks like this
In this I have to click twice every time I follow a YouTube link from other app.
But it can be changed to this(given below). Radio buttons are used here, which remember last used option.

Again, two unnecessary clicks are very irritating. If this feature request isn't clear, I can explain more clearly.
