this sounds like a feature that would only be used by a minority of people. In general it might be good to have a feature to filter out channels or videos by a certain set of criterias. But this is too niche.
Why not a feature to block views based on the users criteria? Like the op I want to block all of what YouTube is trying to push. I'd like to have a block list to block channels I have no interest in.
It would also be nice to have the next video be in the user I'm watching (mine ALWAYS goes to a Fox news video)
Newpipe is AMAZING. Thanks to everyone involved in it's creation it's easily my favorite and most used application.
There are browser plugins which allow users to block channels, so adding something similar to NewPipe would be great. Personally I use the plugin to block basically any mainstream American news channel (YouTube seems to really want me to watch CNN or Fox despite me not being an American). Unfortunately since NewPipe mirrors YouTube's "watch next" recommendations, auto-play in NewPipe has the same issues as vanilla YouTube.
Being able to block channels by name would probably solve most issues (having more customisable restrictions would also be neat, but probably more complicated than a simple block-if-channel-name-matches approach). I agree that being able to restrict auto-play to only videos from the same channel might be useful depending on how easy it is to toggle on and off (with smaller channels I find that YouTube really tries to get you to watch videos that are related but are from larger channels, and currently the only way to counter-act this issue is play all videos from a channel directly).
Describe the feature you want
I want to be able to prevent any video with a million views from showing up in the app.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe it
YouTube is still able to shove content it wants to promote in my face via suggested videos lists etc. If a video has 1+ million views there's a good chance its some trash that YouTube algorithms are trying to promote. Filtering out this kind of stuff based on view count is a way to see less of YouTube's promoted trash.
