Please give System Info

OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS

CPU: Intel Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40 Ghz x2

GPU: AMD Rv770

Storage: 240 GB Samsung 870 SSD

Please give your StepMania Info

StepMania Version: Stephanie 5.3-git-f1d4c9a778 Theme: ITG3HD & The default theme

Describe the problem

Intermittently when changing backgrounds during a song (or I've seen it once when switching screens.) You will see a VERY QUICK 1 frame flash of the glyphs. (I had to capture it in slow mo on my phone to see what it was)

Issue happens in the default OutFox theme, as well as the ITG3 Theme

Describe what should happen

Backgrounds changing without the glyphs flashing.

NOTE: Not sure if this matters, but the videos are pretty much all 720P / 1080P (Screen res is 720P)

Do you still get this issue mate? can you let us know

The-Kilted-Canuck commented 2 years ago

It's still doing it on 5.3.0 Alpha 4.12.0 rc6 amd64 (2022-01-28) for Linux

However, it NOW appears to be doing it with the Timing Glyphs. On the standard theme, you don't notice it as much... (unless you change the timing graphics). It just appears as a whole bunch of weird lines. So most people may not even notice it on the standard theme using the standard timing graphics). IMG_2148 IMG_2149 IMG_2151

First two photos are using the ITG3 Theme, third is using the standard theme... (You can see how it changes how it looks) Mind you I changed it on the standard theme, and got these weird (leaves?) between transitions...
