2 years ago I talked with Jose a bit about this, and I do feel that some of the mappings for editor functions could use more thorough testing for flow and quality of life.
im personally not a big fan of pressing space expecting to highlight a section only to be in quick preview instead lol
Give an example of what is wrong
There are two (2) things wrong on my end:
Move Cursor & Jump Measure: It only moves it once and not repeatedly. This is bad for stepcharts with over one hundred measures (especially long and fast ones). I know that mouse scrolling actually does the one thing I need (pretty much repeated "Move Cursor"s in short bursts) but its only one beat at a time and no entire measure (when PageDown/Up is held down)
Select Region: This one seems bugged as it only does this once and is never being reset. Pressing it again only marks an area between its first and last button push. I really don't know why this functionality needs to be turned into multiple buttons/functions (Tab, before it was spacebar).
Give an example of what it should look like
It should be possible to revert them to their original settings (aka 5.1/below). And if it can't be done because of the in-editor play function (spacebar), move it to another button combination if possible (like shift+P or something similar).
Besides the already changed enter menu, this is another thing driving me even further away from the newer editor and has me staying at SM SSC 1.2.5 as my main simfile editor. I haven't checked and don't know if 4.11.0 is the version where the first of the two problems broke since I'm not using the 5.3 editor.
