Hi @kzogura ,

Can you try to update your TeamSQL version to 4.0.379?

kzogura commented 6 years ago

Hi @murteza , Unfortunately, it was the same.

murtezao commented 6 years ago

Hi @kzogura ,

We will investigate your issue. Thank you.

Hi @kzogura ,

If you're using a proxy or something, please allow *.teamsql.io domains. Let me know if you have any questions.

kczx3 commented 6 years ago

I'm seeing the same thing on my Windows 10 PC behind a corporate proxy. I've tried setting the proxy settings but can't get any combination to work, credentials or not. Other things such as NPM work fine without defining the proxy.

kczx3 commented 6 years ago

I also use the Telegram desktop app which is built on Electron. I do not have to configured a proxy with it. I am able to successfully hit https://api.teamsql.io in the browser and can also get a response via PostMan (though I have to turn off SSL certificate verification as we have self-signed certificates in the chain).

murteza, kczx3, I appreciate your comments. Since there is a problem with my proxy, I will try changing the setting of Elctron, npm.

Also having the same issue - Mac 10.13, v4.0.392

Specifically, I'm connected to my corporate VPN though Cisco Anyconnect. I'm able to bypass the issue by disconnecting from the VPN, logging into TeamSQL, and then connecting back onto the VPN network. However, my team in the main office who are all hooked directly into the office network is also experiencing the same issue and there's no way for them to disconnect.

There seems to be something about the login authentication connection that doesn't play well with VPN's.

murtezao commented 6 years ago

Hi @anspacedrew ,

Can you access "https://api.teamsql.io" when you are connected to your VPN?

kczx3 commented 6 years ago

Oddly enough, it works for me when I am offsite but connected over VPN. It does not work when I am onsite though. I am able to get to the API in either situation.

anspacedrew commented 6 years ago

@murteza - I'm able to access https://api.teamsql.io/ successfully regardless of my VPN status. Seems to just be the initial login process that's causing the issue on my end at least

Running Windows 10 Pro 1809 (17758.4) TeamSQL 4.0.392 Accessing https://api.teamsql.io/ I get {"message":"ok"}

Can't get past the initial "Get Started" page due to following "Connection Problem! TeamSQL encountered a problem while accessing to TeamSQL web services. Please check your internet connection and firewall settings"

Guys, the product looks great and I'd love to try it. I don't expect you'll gain much foothold in corporate environment when you have to have an external connection just to launch the product.

Cheers Phil

Is it safe to say that this is now a dead product? looking at their website it doesn't even seem they are still supporting teamSQL desktop client
