Slashblades, slashblade japanese addon (for integrations with mods like twilight forest) MMlib(the lib), and any type of tombstone mod.
For 1, I think slashblades would work very well for the server, as its fun and is pretty balanced. this would also be another option for pvp.
and plus, a tombstone mod would keep other players from taking your stuff when killed.
