Restoring backups with TWRP 3.0.2-0 does not work with Oneplus X (onyx) #734

Device: Oneplus X ONE E1005 ROMs attempted to restore: CM12.1, OOS, CM13

I make the backup to external SD card. I then restore from within the recovery interface. What ends up occurring is the restored ROM just stays on the booting screen. I've been able to get a partial restore by reinstalling the ROM (/system) and then just restoring /data on top of the reflashed ROM. I've "wiped" /system, and /data as well as the cache before restoring a backup.

I have flashed TWRP using the fastboot method.

I had similar issue when I tried to update my old CM 13 nigthly to the latest one. Apparently CM doesn't ship with firmware, where as OnePlus own OS does. After I installed latest OnePlus OS from their site I was able to restore my old nightly CM and install latest nightly on top.

However, be aware that something is wrong with latest firmware, as TWRP may no longer boot at all - see here.
