Windows 10 "Couldn't Mount File""Disc Image File is corrupted" #919

Hello everyone, I get this error whenever I download TWRP, no matter the ISO and when I try to mount it virtually using windows explorer. I have tried copying the file to remove possible flags on the file and everything, nothing will allow me to mount it thus preventing me from flashing my recovery ROM. Anyone have any tips or fixes for this issue or is it actually corrupted for them as well?

Just downloaded VM12 Pro, installed a Win 7 ISO and went through all the same steps, still says corrupted so I do believe the .isos for TWRP are corrupt.

What are you trying to do?

GlobalAdmin commented 7 years ago

Mount the ISO, when I use ADB to install the iso to flash my tablet recovery it says the disc image is corrupted and windows won't even let me mount it.

GlobalAdmin commented 7 years ago

I can't flash the recovery because ADB can't access the iso even if in same folder. It's as if Win 10 does not recognize it. Nor 7. I have tried to have someone else do it as well. Same error that I got annotating file corruption.

What ISO image are you talking about? TWRP is an Android boot image, not an ISO image.

nailyk-fr commented 7 years ago

you can check file corruption with tools like md5sum. You can also try FWUL live cd to get all the linux needed tool to extract your boot image. But, like _that said, windows isn't able to this. You will be able to flash with FWUL too.

I got the same thing going on for Oneplus 3t on Windows 8...did y all ever figure out a cause or solution? This happened today from multiple mirrors

Honestly it used to work on Win 8 and 10 until I reimaged my machine but like @gFknQ was talking about. Best bet that will always work is to run FWUL and do it that way, I just ran FWUL as a virtual machine and did it. It was easy
