I'd propose either #techempower-fwbm or #fwbm on Freenode. I'm going to go ahead and join those, anyone else is welcome
@hamiltont This is a good idea and I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I'm not a Freenode regular, but I'll see if I can get my IRC client to connect.
Cool, I'm hanging out in #techempower-fwbm as hamiltont. I've setup my client to never leave the channel, so feel free to drop me a hi at some point :)
I'd love to have any forum to communicate more quickly and in a more ad hoc manner - if you guys would prefer something like a google group I'd be interested in that as well, and email might be more familiar to many people.
Let me know if you have people that want to be ops.
@hamiltont There is a Google Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/framework-benchmarks
I'm able to connect using the Freenode webchat UI, but I can't yet get my IRC client to connect.
@aschneider-techempower Could you enable the GitHub IRC service? It would be nice to have and costs us nothing, besides 5 minutes of setup time!
I'm searching free open IRC logging service, but not found. Slack is better than IRC, maybe.
What do you think of botbot.me ? I've seen a few channels using it
I mostly vote for IRC because it's established
Great!
We are messing with the GitHub IRC service at the moment; is there a specific reason for having this?
Currently, we are using the IRC setup that @hamiltont suggested (freenode, #techempower-fwbm), and as far as I can tell the IRC service that GitHub provides simply announces events (as a bot) in a given IRC channel.
Not a bug, but wondering if someone at TechEmpower could maintain an IRC channel? This might be useful for quick discussions
If there is already one please close this and let me know! :-)
