ClamTk does not appear in XFCE Menu #18

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install ClamTk on XFCE or Xubuntu

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected behavior is that the application will show in the menu, it does not

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Clamtk 5.06 Debian Jessie Xfce4 Desktop

Please provide any additional information below.

Please consider changing the /usr/share/applications/clamtk.desktop file to
make Clamtk show in XFCE desktops. Commenting the show only line will make it
show in XFCE, see attached.

Hi

Thank you for letting me know.

I believe you're referring to the fact that it no longer shows up in
Accessories, right? If so, then yes, I'm aware, and it will be included there
again in 5.07:
https://bitbucket.org/dave_theunsub/clamtk/raw/master/CHANGES

However, if you're referring to the right-click/context menu behavior in
Thunar, then you also need to install thunar-sendto-clamtk - its link is on the
front page.

Thanks,
Dave M

Hi Dave,
You are correct in your assumption that I was talking about it about ClamTk not showing in the main menu/accessories in XFCE. I do have thunar-sendto-clamtk and it works as advertised. Thanks for the great product! I generally use the cli interface but there are many time that ClamTk is just more friendly and I am glad it exists and appreciate the project,

Cheers,
Chuck

Chuck,

If you need a quicker fix, do this:

sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/clamtk.desktop

Scroll to the bottom, and delete this line:

OnlyShowIn=GNOME;

Save and close it. That should do the trick, although you may have to log out
and back in again.

Thanks,
Dave M
