It could be that you encountered the update glitch. Could you please follow these steps and see if that solves it?

Required reinstall of Rclone and hold @ mergers 2.28.1-1build1. Unfortunately Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr all have the issue of not being able to save a root folder that is on Google Drive. I’m guessing this is Google’s doing somewhere.

What are your settings in that regard?
My host system is an older (205 or 2016 model can’t recall right now) Airbus x7. It has 32GB ram, dual Nvidia GPU, and 3TB of SSD. I’m using Ubuntu 21.10 as an OS. I have Google Drive using a team share with secondary login that is not the owner of the share but has full rw capability. Moving everything to a team share is new event but the problem existed before I moved everything when it was in the root drive.
Both scenarios were otherwise by the instruction install. One difference is my folder for content is not named Media. It worked well previously this structure.
When I go into the service to set the root folder the field is empty. I can browse to the location just fine because the GDrive mount is mapped to the /Media volume. It just won’t save it.
Because Lidarr has the older style GUI for setting the root folder clicking the save button thinks about it for a minute before it displays a failure icon.
Unfortunately nothing I’ve seen in the logs tells me what the actual error might be. It’s about as helpful as Microsoft error messages. I also have logs set to debug.
On my end before moving my content to a team share I had other services tied to my naming convention so it was a fixed structure. If things have changed and the folder structure is now required to root to a folder named Media changing the content folder name won’t be an issue.
What’s funny is I’m spending time on this just because it’s bugging me. I’m not sure yet how much longer I will be able to keep my content on Google Drive. They sent me a notice recently about their new business account structure. They will now have three tiers of data capacity before you are into the Enterprise category where I’m presuming it will be a per TB cost structure. My content currently occupies 136TB. I pretty sure I won’t be able to afford their asking price.
Off topic Plex was the first service to not be able to handle the volume of my library. Emby started having issues a few months ago (extreme lag loading the main dashboard), Jellyfin is now the only one still working. Plex most often wouldn’t load the dashboard at all.

Host system age shouldn't really come into this... I have tested Gooby even on an old i3-530 (without transcoding, obviously). It doesn't need that much computing power.
As for using Media for your content, that is pretty much a must I'm afraid. That is, /Media from within the containers unless you manually edit every single one of them in /var/local/Gooby/Docker/components
.
On Google itself it shouldn't matter what folder structure you use. Root should be fine, or any folder you choose (selectable when you install Rclone). I must say I'm not familiar with the team drive though, perhaps others can chime in on that.
I don’t know this is something I should start a new thread on but I’m getting a “user abc cannot write to location setting the root folder on all of my ‘arr servers. I don’t want to put something public that is a dumb user issue.
I’ve found the google mnt folder is being created with a view permission for groups. If I change it to create and delete. I can save the root folder on my servers. Is the google drive mount supposed to be view only or create delete? I did a backup and wiped my Ubuntu Distro back to 20.0.4 because I was having too many issues on the newer distro. It didn’t seem to solve the issue.
I did a fresh install from your script and then restored the backup.
I also have an issue of the dockers not restarting on reboot of the system even though they were previously working correctly.
I am dealing with Google fixing my permissions after restructuring my file system. I’m surprised its taking so long. It’s been going for three days now and I have no visibility on how much longer it will take.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Gooby has full permission to the Google mount, without having to set any permissions manually. When you run rclean
, what errors are you getting?
There does seem to be an error.
rsync: getcwd(): No such file or directory (2) rsync error: errors selecting input/output files, dirs (code 3) at util.c(1221) [Receiver=3.1.3]

Well that's hard to troubleshoot when I don't know exactly what changes you made. Can you try a vanilla installation including installing Rclone and then give me the output of that command please?
The issue was I ran it from the /opt/Gooby/scripts/cron directory. I copied it to /tmp and there were no errors when it ran from that location.

This issue is mostly resolved now. I had a mix of permissions. The changes in my GDrive structure was incomplete (fixed permissions conflict between my admin account and user account for Gooby after trying to fit everything into Teams). It is a good example of read the instructions first. Team folders are limited to 5TB. Only part of my content moved and also changed permissions to my admin account. I believe it there was GDrive permission restrictions.
Everything is working through at a slow pace. I have one last issue if you can point me in a direction. The containers don’t restart automatically after reboot.
1: Is there a troubleshooting guide you could recommend or where I need to look? All of the containers are off of your baseline with only small mods to suite my environment (other containers, etc).
2: Is there a way to start them all without running rclean? Rclean tends to burn up my letsencrypt cents. Then I have to wait several days to get back into the services. I’ve tried listing the containers with “docker ps -a” but there is nothing there.

Glad things are resolved now. As for your containers not restarting after a reboot, it could lots of reasons. That is why I asked if rclean works without issues, because that's basically what runs after a reboot. If containers don't come up with rclean, they also don't come up after a reboot.
As for starting your containers without running rclean, yes, of course that is possible by just running the correct command (if I recall, "docker-compose up containername"). There would be lots of documentation on the Internet about how to do that. However, as long as your underlying issues haven't been resolved, just bringing the containers up might do more harm than good.
Is there a log file for Gooby anywhere. When I run rclean I get a message saying its already running. Any ideas where I can look to find out what it is hung on?

That means that it never finished after your reboot. The message should give you a number. Type kill -9 1234
(use that number instead).
You can edit your cron to change the output of rclean at boot, but I'd say just run it manually and see where it hangs... chances are once you sort that, it'll work after each reboot as well.
Statement and Question.
Statement. My palm is currently on my forehead. Even though Linux is not my primary OS. I should have guessed the output would be the process id. I’ve only been in this business for 35 years. I feel so dumb. Mostly because when I started you had your choice of Assembly, Basic, Fortran, Cobalt, and well…..DOS. I should be able to figure out CLI and process management.
Question. I get prompted to supply the the password when I run rclean manually - ran fine BTW. Is rclean caching the password somewhere for running on reboot? I ask because when I wiped and reinstalled Ubuntu I changed my pwd. I feel like if it is cached somewhere it may have restored that cached password when I restored my backup to the fresh Ubuntu install with a different pwd.

Haha ok, it seems we're getting somewhere... gradually 😆
Normally when Gooby is installed from root, it asks to create a user... then it makes it so that the user (once logged in) doesn't need to enter the sudo password with every action. And, you guessed right, rclean needs to perform some sudo actions that it can't finish if left unattended (e.g. run from cron with a reboot).
The easiest way so solve this is go into root mode:
su -
Then paste the following:
read -e -p "Your username: " -i "yourname" PU
(replace "yourname" with your regular user login name)
Then paste the following lines:
sudo -s adduser ${PU}
sudo -s usermod -a -G sudo ${PU}
sudo -s echo -e "${PU}\tALL=(ALL)\tNOPASSWD:ALL" > /etc/sudoers.d/${PU}
sudo -s chmod 0440 /etc/sudoers.d/${PU}
su ${PU}
You should now be back as your user, with the advantage of no longer needing to enter the password during an rclone run.
I suggest you test this before trying the reboot 😄
BTW, I’ve taken to backing up my /var/local/Gooby/Docker/certs directory when I’m not certain letsencrypt will pull a new cert due to changes in a new container pull. I copy it back and restart letencrypt and usually I’m back in business.

If your setup is quite old and if you restored Gooby in its entirety from the backup, make sure that you get the latest version of the proxy yaml file: https://github.com/TechPerplexed/Gooby/blob/v2/scripts/nginx/03-proxy.yaml
Just overwrite the existing one in /var/local/Gooby/Docker/components
That will make sure that the certificate is only renewed when it's actually due.
Fixed. Mine was older from 2020. Line 35 was added on the new one.
Thanks for all of the help! This might be something to add a check or a notice about restoring full backups to a system that may have changes the backup will overwrite. For me it was the least of my problems so I’m not put out. Others are pretty quick to flame you these days. Most of this was self-inflicted so the blame starts with me.
I thought I was going to be done with this when Google sent me a notice about their new price structure. I restructured my data in preparation for having to dump my content because it would be cost prohibitive for me to run bare metal. Though now that everything is correct and duplication between accounts is removed. My data size is a little over half the previous size and it may be an option to explore in the near future again. Anyway the restructuring identified a host of permissions issues where I used both accounts at one time or another with rclone setup. It should have been an easy fix but Google thought otherwise. There are pros and cons to cloud vs bare metal and I’ll have to weigh those when the bridge needs crossed.
The permissions are all fixed after a week of it slowing processing them all. Now it’s working through a change (for the better I hope) of my file naming structure. I’ve added the tmdb identifiers to the naming structure on both Sonarr and Radarr to help resolve conflict with the players identifying the correct content. That will take some time and then the players have to index it all. I’m running all three for now to see if the loading issues that started much of this are fixed and I’ll see where I land.
I started with Plex soon after beta but don’t like some of the direction its taken in recent years with the ads popping up for non-pass users. I don’t like seeing ads if I’m watching my content at my son’s house while visiting my grandson. Yes I can log in as me but its bad taste to start changing another dudes setup just because I can.
I was satisfied with Emby until it started stalling on the dashboard load. I’m holding judgement that it was the permissions conflict that caused it. The upside is the book integration. I have a vast ebook library and it’s nice to share it with my niece and any device I’m on at the time. I’m running Calibre-Web as well but I like simplified experiences where I can achieve it. Emby going closed source may be an issue down the road similar to Plex. Jellyfin continued to work where Emby quit with the same content so there is a light edge there for Jellyfin. Downside is no Samsung TV app at this time (not a deal breaker if you have a FireStick.
Speaking of simplified. I really didn’t use Organizer before because the first time I installed it I didn’t see much value add that I didn’t have in other areas - until I was looking something up during this rebuild. I stumbled on a detailed explanation on tab usage in the documentation I finally found time to read and now I have everything piped through Organizar with only one open browser tab. I’m very much happier with the experience. Right now Sonarr is the only bad apple at the moment because the api stalls a lot and I have to hit refresh way to often in my opinion. Could be a resource issue but I’m skeptical since its the only one. Radarr, Lidarr, and Readarr aren’t having the issue.
Again thanks for all of the outstanding support. It is greatly appreciated!

Super! I'm so glad it finally seems to be working fully. While you're at it, you might want to change the Compose version in the 01-... file as well, from 2.3 to 3.9.
Funny enough I just moved back to Plex, after two years of Emby. I really like the new/faster scanning methods in Plex, plus skipping intros and a few other new features. Also the new Trakt sync app (non dockerized, unfortunately) works flawlessly while Emby flatly refuses to install Trakt on my new server. It seems impossible to pick a "forever streamer", haha!
Thanks! I already had the webhook for Trakt added to Plex. I was waiting to see how well it did after the indexing was done. My file was still 2.3 so that his changed.
I’m waiting right now because I ran a new cleanup after the changes and the host is REALLY working hard at something. It has the screen locked up at the moment. I’m giving it time to work through what ever it is. I’ll check back on it later. It got as far as shutting down the services from what I can see. I would have to go look at the script for the next step but I think it is where it catalogs some files before dropping the rclone mounts. I’ll know when the CPU fans quit screaming. It’s using nearly 100% CPU for something. ;}
There are a lot of files. 8k+ movies, 452 series, I don’t know how much music anymore, and other files that are part of the mount but not strictly media. I have it that way because I occasionally have deluge download apps or OS’s that I don’t want in a strict media folder.

You know, if you are up to it, I would actually highly recommend you change from Ubuntu to Debian 10. I found that Ubuntu can slow down the system and even refuse to shut down Docker images.
You might find that a lot of the issues you are describing just now might vanish with Debian...
I’m open to giving it a shot. I can resize the partition and dual boot the system until I can test and validate my Gooby backup and restore. I won’t need to do a full restore I can just restore the containers.

I currently have my setup on Ubuntu 21.10. Recent updates starting a few months ago triggered mergerfs to fail to start. I was able to roll back the version of mergerfs to 2.28.1-1build1 and it worked well until my last system update. I had the version marked hold because any version higher will not start. I suspected it was a depreciated option until this last update broke version 2.28.1-1build1 as well. Here is the error message
1569 ExecStartPre=/bin/mkdir -p ${UPLOADS} ${MEDIA} ${UNSYNCED} (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
