Hey Gen / the Solder team,

I think I can speak for everybody that we appreciate your work and we love to create packs with solder. Even though Solder is working perfectly for most people I am interested if you still work on it / if we can expect some updates in the near future.

I think one of the most important things would be the Mod upload feature which was requested several times and has been promised for solder 0.8.X which seemingly is not in development right now.

We on our side use a very old Solder 0.6.X build that some person had branched and modded (a year ago) so it allows you to directly upload mods. For now it is working fine but I would love to see this in an official update.

The latest commit to the feature/redesign branch has been in May and the latest commit to the master branch has been in April this is what makes me open this issue.

I don't want to put any pressure on you guys, I just want to be clear how this project continues and I think others would also like to know this.

Best regards,

Bent

To be short - your looking at the wrong branch. The last commit to the dev branch was 2nd Aug.

Hey @ET-Bent,

I recently acquired a new job at DigitalOcean early May and on top of moving its been a hectic summer. I am still developing Solder and as everyone else has commented there has been commits to the dev branch.

While there are still a lot of things going on behind the scenes, Mod Uploading is still our # 1 goal. There are a few things that need to be re-coded/designed before we can start that feature. It is a massive feature that will be API breaking and essentially be a rewrite of the entire backend.

I appreciate you bring this topic up as it shows your support for the project. If you have any further questions/concerns, feel free to ping me on IRC or shoot me an email at genpage@technicpack.net

@GenPage to this end, would you all consider adding a low-hanging fruit or beginner label for issues that new people can work on? I'd love to help you all out, and have lots of Laravel experience, but with so much in-progress it's hard to find a good place to dive in.

GenPage commented 9 years ago

@krues8dr Yes! Thats a great idea. I have created a 'low' label

You can also help suggest edits on the doc page as well! That is also a good place to start.

Feel free to stop by #technic on SynIRC and our Technic Discord server
