good job! the UI is very intuitive and easy to use. still, a few remarks:
the font on the buttons is a little over the top
the "start game" button should stand out more. this is, after all, the heart of your app
love the "badge" icon on the toolbar next to the user profile. however, i suggest showing the badge in the user profile instead, with the user's profile picture on top of it
are the tabs necessary? you have a relatively small number of screens in your app, and most of the information can be seen in the user's profile. if you choose to remove the tabs, you can change your main screen to look more "splash screen"-ish: very fitting for a game's main screen
see if you can make the game's screen look more appealing. maybe display a customized progress bar to let the players see each other's progress (we want them to race each other).
Thank you for your quick reply! We made some changes in the UI, would like to hear your feedback :) Regarding the font, we liked that it's fun so we kept it and decreased the text size and made it not bold so that it looks less exaggerated. The icon on the toolbar is the settings icon, sorry for not clarifying that, the badge is in the user profile.
Adding a pdf file describing the pictures we'll use in the app ( in regard to their relevant page in the ui)
*The pictures may (and probably will) be changed in the future.
hey guys, you did a good job overall. however, i had a lot of comments on your submission so please make sure to address them in your actual implementation. you have a relatively small amount of screens in the app, so make sure you polish them as much as you can. good luck :)
for some reason, fluidui deleted all of my comments... i rewrote everything and im adding it here so it wont be deleted again:
Inconsistent usage of dark and light themes: the main menu has a dark background, and suddenly the background is completely white when participating in a match (user needs to readjust to the brightness right when the game starts)
Incosistency with app bar's color
Back/home button in the app bar looks weird. There is a standard icon for that action
Poor usage of FABs. FABs represent the primary & positive action in a screen and should be placed at the bottom end.
Poor usage of tabs: https://material.io/components/tabs/#placement
There are some questionable transitions. For example, why not show a menu before starting a game, where a user can select the text themes? A button for "selecting a theme" and having it done in an entirely different screen seems like too much. You can make it such that the user's preferences are saved.
The user profile is messy and needs to see some adjustments. Make it spacy and more colorful. Also allow users to customize their profile!
When viewing the texts that I contributes - show a rating bar instead of a stars and a number next to them. Same goes for the rating process itself at the post-game screen. This is a view with the exact functionality you're looking for.
You did not add explanations about the game's flow and overall ranking system. What's colored in green / red? Is it like typeracer?
The user needs to have some indication about their progress when playing in multiplayer mode. Find a visual way to reveal this information to the user during the game.
I want to see more icons throughout the app for things like post-game stats (time icon, WPM icon, points icon, etc). It adds clarity.
What is the settings action for in the app bar? Sounds like something that should be managed in the user's profile.
I think the "add text" button should be an app bar action (should replace the settings action).
The main menu screen is a little dull with this background. Try to find a way to make it look more engaging (with the changes I proposed - this screen only has a "start game" button. You can definitely make it feel more like some prolonged splash screen). Maybe the toolbar itself is distracting in this screen, and can be taken off (and its actions can be placed somewhere else). See this example to understand what I mean.
new issues regarding the UI were opened.
