When the snail crawls across the bottom of a webpage, it covers up all of the elements behind its path. If a submit button or options exist at the bottom of the page, the snail makes them impossible to click, even if the snail itself is not over the top of them.
To fix this, the snail should move across the screen with Javascript rather than SMIL. The actual SVG element will move, not an element within an SVG element that covers the entire width of the screen.
