A transformer, a relationship-builder, a pitch-in wherever I’m needed team player, we need a Senior QA Automation Developer who wants to be a leader and a doer. Whether you have a few years of working in start-ups or at larger organizations, you understand that certain aspects of code and product are better suited for Automation than others.
This is an opportunity for a Senior QA Automation Developer who wants to have their voice heard by the product development team as they provide input on future design decisions that are impacted by current error cases.
If you care about elegant user experiences, low crash counts and responsive applications, we would love for you to join us to push boundaries as we craft the best consumer-facing insurance products available on mobile.
What's in it for you
Innovation. This is an opportunity to build the Automation and the testing from scratch; to innovate solutions in an environment where you have the freedom to introduce the technology and tools you know to be the best.
Efficiency. We aren’t bogged down in layers of hierarchy and process. What does exist is there to help everyone do their best work and have fun doing it. You will learn from and work with one of our founders. You will be part of a team focused on shipping thoroughly tested, quality code. You will be supported by your peers who will also seek your advice and opinion.
Trust. We are building an insurance company from the ground up and we need intelligent individuals we can trust to help guide the work; people who want to be part of our growth. As we expand our presence across the US; we need to create customized solutions that adhere to regulations and governance. This creates on-the-job learning for our teams to expand their knowledge, gain new skills and stay motivated. As an early joiner, you will see the chance to move up to a lead rapidly become a reality.
What You Need to Be Successful (Skills)
The experience. You have 5+ years hands-on experience building out Automation testing including work on a mobile product. You have expertise in writing comprehensive test plans and technical documentation detailing defects and issues. Ideally, you have exposure to both iOS and Android Mobile operating systems and an understanding of their respective idiosyncrasies. You know how to write repeatable, clean, easy-to-understand tests in Appium, Espresso, XCUITest etc.). Bonus points for the ability to code in Ruby.
The passion. You want to make a difference and see the impact of what you do working on mission critical systems. You strive for perfection and have a history of shipping well-tested code quickly.
The collaborative approach. You have outstanding communication skills. You can effectively work with designers to make sure all the error cases are accounted for and can clearly communicate issues and bugs to Developers for fixes.
The leadership potential. You want to build out a QA team from hiring to onboarding. You know how to nurture skills and provide training and support to junior members.
About Our company
Technology forward and customer first. A place where any tool can be used and the end-user experience is a priority. It sounds like an unattainable utopia but at Cover, we’re making it a reality.
Cover is a technology company and a modern, fair and nationally licensed insurance brokerage that works with more than 30 insurance companies across the United States. Our focus is to ensure that our customers get the most out of their insurance; and that starts with building elegant, easy-to-use apps because experience is everything. At Cover, we're breaking the mold and disrupting an old industry, aligning ease-of-use; straight-forward access to information and the end-user experience.
Why join us
Cover is not just another app. We are both a brokerage and an insurance provider. More importantly, we prioritize the end user experience with easy-to-use technology and equally responsive customer service.
In a world of instability and startups popping up; you can come to Cover and feel confident in your choice. We were created by Founders who have already built successful businesses and we are partnered with OneEleven, a global scaleup hub focused on helping the most promising, high-growth tech startups build their businesses and scale their operations.
This is a place where Developers are front and centre; a strategic part of our success. We’re aiming for 50/50 gender diversity (and hey, if you don’t fit into either side of that ratio, that’s okay too) and global representation that makes our potlucks an international feast. We’re a company that cares about how smart you are and who you are, not the boxes you do or don’t check on a form. To that end, if you feel like you have something to contribute but don’t quite meet all of the requirements we are looking for, submit your application anyway, we promise to take a look.
