What You'll Do
You are an experienced data scientist who has helped deploy machine learning in large-scale applications and has built a reputation among data scientists through your contributions to the community. You are a mentor and guiding voice for teammates, who can balance day-to-day workload, with an eye for future improvements of your team and their work.
As a data scientist with TELUS Digital, you will be responsible for designing, building and running the machine learning applications which enable innovative, data-driven, customer centric digital experiences for TELUS customers inside and outside the organization.
You will be working as part of a friendly, cross-discipline agile team who helps each other solve problems across all functions. As a custodian of customer trust, you will employ best practice in development, security, accessibility and design to achieve the highest quality of service for our customers.
What You Need to Be Successful
In-depth education in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
Relevant work or research experience delivering a substantial data science/machine learning project including publications, contributing to packages, deploying applications, building tools and frameworks
Interpersonal and communication skills to enable collaboration with a range of team members with diverse skill sets and backgrounds
The ability to quick familiarize yourself with new languages, tools, frameworks, and to stay abreast of developments in machine learning
Practical application of statistical methods to achieve outcomes
Commitment to ensuring your work is documented and comprehensible to mere mortals
