What You'll Do

You are an experienced Machine Learning Engineer with deep expertise in machine learning techniques as well as big data processing tools and technologies. You are well versed in cloud infrastructure and know how to ship software: early and often, with a strong emphasis on quality and automation.

You’ll be joining a young team working to build tools, frameworks, and business processes to increase adoption of machine learning. In addition to supporting others, you will help identify opportunities for the application of machine learning and using the tools you build to effect meaningful change in those cases.

As an ML Engineer for TELUS Digital you will be responsible for:

using big data technologies to develop data processing pipelines
creating, validating, and tuning machine learning models for large scale data
exposing machine learning capabilities to product developers
designing tools and frameworks to enable product teams to apply machine learning
creating abstractions to facilitate code, feature, and data reuse
writing high quality, well-tested, and idiomatic code
authoring readable and accurate documentation
productizing machine learning via APIs and other means
ensuring that machine learning systems are available, stable, and performant
participating in agile rituals to organize work
collaborating with architects, data scientists, and other team members

What You Need to Be Successful

To succeed as an ML Engineer at TELUS Digital you will need:

In-depth education in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
Relevant work experience delivering substantial machine learning projects
Experience with agile methodology and team-based software development workflows
Expertise with Scala, Java, Python, JavaScript (Node.js)
Experience with Linux-based development, shell scripting, functional programming
Ability to learn new languages, tools, and frameworks, and to build them for others
Commitment to staying on top of developments in ML techniques and technologies
The ability to apply machine learning to achieve significant outcomes
Commitment to ensuring your work is documented and comprehensible to mere mortals
